The history behind the Wheelmen
Wheelmen & Company’s bloodline can be traced back to Thomas Smith, the founder’s great grandfather in the 1800’s. He was born in 1874, lived his whole life in Oldcastle, County Meath, Ireland, and was a man with many diverse talents. Thomas Smith not only worked full time for the national railroad, but was also one of the first bicycle mechanics in Ireland. His bicycle repair business flourished and wasn’t long before he became an exclusive dealer of Raleigh Bicycles. Thomas Smith’s bicycle business prospered for many years. The same tools the founder's great grandfather used to create some of the first bicycles dating back to the late 1800’s as well as his original bicycle shop stood can be seen below. At Wheelmen & Company, we stand by tradition and a long lasting understanding of creating product that can be worn now, as well as in many years to come. Simply put, we are ”Classic Tailoring : Modern Function”.
Our mission is to create functional, durable accessories and apparel using classic lines and styles reborn for the 21st century. The products we create at Wheelmen & Company are produced and designed in the United States. We strive for the highest standards while maintaining function and comfort.
Limited Lifetime Warranty
We take pride in the fact that our products are hand-made in the USA and adhere to the highest quality standards. If nevertheless your Wheelmen & Co. purchase should ever fail due to defective materials or workmanship, we will repair or replace the part in question for the life of the product, free of charge. Please contact us with a description of the issue and your order number or proof of purchase and we'll let you know how to proceed.
Do note that our warranty is lifetime and ironclad, but only covers material or workmanship defects, not regular wear-and-tear or extreme use situations. Our products are made from natural leather and fibers and these will get worn out over time.
If your Wheelmen & Co. product has seen too many winters, taken a beating or needs some patching up, we will do our best to get it back to you as good as new. Send us a description and/or picture of the issue, and we will provide you with an estimate of the repair costs and information on where to ship your product.
